Happy Birthday Oliver!

My Very Best Friend...Ollie
He's here!  We've all been waiting so long and finally, my little brother, Oliver William Stewart, is here!  He joined our family, outside of mommy's belly, on March 8th, at 2:29pm.  He weighed 8 lbs and was 20.5 inches long.  I was so excited to meet him for the first time.  I asked to hold him right away.  I kissed his head and couldn't stop smiling.  Mommy and Daddy were a bit surprised because all week every time they asked if I wanted to meet baby brother I said, "No, I want a horsey."  Mommy's delivery was everything she dreamed it could be like.  Apparently, I'm still in trouble for the delivery experience I caused her, but hey, I was worth it!

Two Year Wellness Visit

A few days after my birthday, I went to the Dr for my check-up.  I was such a happy girl!  My doctor couldn't believe how much I talked.  Right when she asked mommy if I'm putting 2-3 words together I said, "I want to hold it" (pointing at the stethoscope), then I said, "Put in my ears."  The Dr. said she never had a 2 year old ask to put the stethoscope in their ears.  She was so impressed with my talking!  My head is still measuring large (75th percentile...thanks Daddy!)  I weigh 26lbs which puts me at the 40th percentile and for height, I'm in the 15th percentile.  The Dr. looked mommy and daddy up and down and said chances are, I'll be a bit short.  That's okay!  Mommy is short and I'd like to be just like her when I grow up.

I like to write all over the paperwork they give Mommy

I'm 2 Years Old!

On Wednesday, February 23, I turned 2 years old.  I had such a special day.  Mommy and Daddy came into my room right as I woke up at 7am with lots and lots of balloons!  I was so excited.  I love balloons.  Afterwards, Grandma came over and we went to school so we could celebrate with my friends.  Mommy brought yummy cinnamon rolls and my friends and teacher sang to me.  Then Grandma, Mommy and I went to the movies to see Tangled.  I sat through the entire movie and loved it.  We made it home in time for my nap and when I woke up, Mommy had a Rapunzel Princess Dress for me.  When Daddy came home from work, the three of us went to Red Robin for some yummy food and an ice cream sundae.
It was the best birthday ever!

School

Now that I'm 2 years old, my school program has changed!  I'm in a much larger room with older kids ages two to three.  I have 2 main teachers, Miss Elena and Miss Judy, but other teachers help out throughout the day.  I love my new classroom.  We have circle time where we learn all sorts of stuff and we have fun working on art projects.  I love when we get to play outside on the playground.  I get to bring a lunch bag and I even nap on a cot!  I have so many friends and most of them I've known since I was a baby.

Big Girl Room

Big Girl Room
Here it is!  My new room.  A month or so ago, Mommy and Daddy converted my crib to a toddler bed.  My sleep habits were only mildly affected for a few days.  Then, I slept perfectly as usual.  Two weeks after that, Uncle William and Daddy moved my nursery furniture into baby brother's room and assembled my big girl furniture.  Mommy was so worried how I would handle this change, but I was so excited.  I danced around and said, "Big girl bed...Mia's."  Mommy then showed me how to get on and off my bed safely using a stool and then told me, "Stay in bed, and wait for mommy or daddy."   I saw tears in Mommy's eyes because I was so excited to be a big girl.  I even helped her move my baby things into brother's room.  That night, and every night since, I go right to bed after we read 2 books.  I turn on my own night light, music, and ask for my big girl bed.  In the morning, after rolling around for 20 minutes to adjust to the fact that I have to wake up, I call for Mommy or Daddy to come to my room.  It is then that I get out of bed.  I've never left my room or woke up during the night without going right back to sleep.
Well...there is nap time.  That's a little different.  Most days, I stay in my bed and talk to my animals for 20 minutes before falling asleep, but other days I get off my bed and read myself some books.  I don't leave my room or cry, I just like to read all by myself before going to sleep.  I always climb back on my bed and fall asleep.  It's my little secret.

Thank you Uncle and Daddy!
Look!  I can get off my bed all by myself!

I love my room!
If I was home when Mommy took this picture, I would have yelled, "Off Izzy, off Lucy, Mia's bed!"

Fur Cousin Kosher

Guess what?  Uncle William and Auntie Julie got a little Dachshund puppy named Kosher last week.  He is so cute and I love him so much.  I talk about him all the time.  I get really excited when I get to go play with him.  Izzy and Lucy came with me one day to meet him.  Lucy and him played together right away.  Even though Izzy is much bigger, he was scared, but we know that's how Izzy is with other dogs.
